Musical concert organised at La Martiniere College in Lucknow

After the felicitation ceremonies of six 1965 war veterans of La Martiniere College, a musical concert was organised in the college campus in the evening, which saw the Vienna University Choir Orchestra performing at the event along with the Dogra Regiment Band, Gorkha Rifles Bagpiper Band and the No. 5 Airforce Band.
Organised on the East Terrace of the school against the backdrop of the beautifully-lit Constantia building, the event, which had CM Akhilesh Yadav and wife Dimple as special guests, started with the Air Force and Army bands playing a few symphonies.Thereafter, the Vienna University orchestra, directed by ex student Vijay Upadhyaya, took over the stage and mesmerised all present, playing a couple of symphonies, Ronita including a few of Mozart as well. The two-hour long concert was thoroughly wo-hour long concert was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, which mostly comprised ex students of the school who've served or are still serving in the Armed Forces, with a large number of them especially travelling to Lucknow for the occa sion. The do ended with the Defence band playing a couple of patriotic songs, and finally closing with the national anthem.
Post the concert, it was time for celebration as the guests raised toasts for the war veterans from the school. Principal Carlyle McFar land played the role of host to the tee, introducing the war veterans to the other guests. An AV was also played which showcased the achievements of the felicitated de fence personnel. The GNAT ari craft, which has been erected in the War Memorial in the school cam pus, was quite a hotspot for pic tures, in spite of being located at the far end of the campus.
